"The room was clean and spacious. I loved
the wooden details of the building.
Excellent location - 5 minutes walk from most of
the major sites and also very close to the ferry
terminal to Dar Es Salaam."

"Ideally located near the port and the heart of stone town. Hard to describe the ambience of this hotel, it was like being in a movie set."

"It was a perfect stay. We loved the pool and
that special old building where the hotel is
located. We wish we had more time to explore."

Our
Story

Mizingani Seafront Hotel has a rich and vibrant history to fit with the unique and alluring interior as it features one of the oldest lifts in Zanzibar.

The building was constructed for royal honeymooners in 1865. Later the house was turned into the Custom House in 1928 but due to poor maintenance, it deteriorated and finally had to be evacuated.

The former Palace was restored to its former glory, opening its doors in September 2014, serving as a home away from home for many travelers.
